Next Away Game: 12/21/24 at Brandywine Creek SP (Delaware)

Hi. We’re running in Delaware.

You should join us!

Our next Away Game will take place on Saturday, December 21st, at 9:30 a.m., in Brandywine Creek State Park. The run will also take us into First State National Historical Park!

We will meet by the Brandywine Creek SP Nature Center (4244 Wilsons Run Rd, Wilmington, DE). Click HERE for a link to the GPS location on GoogleMaps.

We will also check out a local brewery for lunch after the run (exact location TBD).

Check the Pacer Facebook Event page for more information closer to the date of the run, including a link to the route we’ll be running. (We typically run about 10 miles, with a shorter route also available.)

Next “Weekend” 10-Miler: December 26 at Rustic Park!

December 26 might be Boxing Day in the UK, but it’s going to be Running Day here in Berks County!

Normally we have our “Weekend 10-Miler” on an actual weekend, but we’re hoping that a good number of folks will be off on this Thursday-after-Christmas and will be able to join us.

Come show off all the new running gear that Santa brought you at our group run at 9:30 a.m. at Rustic Park (1314 Haycreek Rd., Birdsboro) on December 26.

In addition to the full 10-mile route, there will be options for shorter distances.

We will also meet up for lunch afterwards, if you have time to stick around (location TBD).

Check our Facebook Events page closer to the date of the run to see a preview of the route.

Hope you can join us!

Wednesday Night Runs (December ’24 Locations)

Our mid-week group runs have at least two different distance options (3-4 miles and 5-6 miles) with an appointed leader for each route. Each run will have its own Facebook “event,” and the routes will be posted a couple days before the run. After each run, those who can will stick around for food, drink, and good conversation, either at a nearby restaurant or a club member’s residence. Come for the run; stay (if you can) for the fellowship. (If you don’t have time to stick around, no worries–just come run with us!)

All runs start at 6:15 p.m. (except the Christmas morning run).

Remember to bring a headlamp or flashlight and to wear reflective gear!

Next Weekend 10-Miler on 11/17/24 at Antietam Lake Park

November’s Weekend 10-Miler will take place on Sunday, November 17, at 9:30 a.m.

Meet at the parking lot for Antietam Lake Park on Angora Road.

We will make use of the trails throughout Antietam Lake Park and the Mt Penn Preserve. The pace will be casual, and we won’t abandon anyone in the middle of the woods.

The route and a post-run lunch location will be decided upon closer to the day of the run. Check the Facebook Event page for updates.

Next Away Game: 11/23/24 at Wissahickon

See you there!

Next Away Game: 10/26/24 at Valley Forge!

Looking for a little adventure and to run somewhere new?

Come join us at the next “Pacer Away Game” for a casual, group run!

We’ll be heading to Valley Forge National Historic Park on Saturday, October 26.

Meet at the Betztwood Trail Head at 9:30 a.m.

The run will be approximately 10 miles, with options to cut it short.

A route and probable post-run lunch venue will be posted to the Facebook Event closer to the day of the run.

We hope you can join us!

Next Weekend 10-Miler on 10/20/24

This month’s weekend 10-mile group run will take place on Sunday, October 20th, at French Creek State Park!
We will meet at the Fire Tower parking lot at 9:30 a.m.

A route and possible post-run lunch spot will be posted to the Facebook Event for this run closer to the 20th.

These runs are social runs, at a casual pace, and we don’t leave slower runners behind, so no need to worry about getting dropped in the middle of the woods!

We hope you can join us!

Pacer Long Run–Reading’s Twin Peaks (5/21/23)

May’s group long run will be much closer to home than April’s, and so we hope many of you will be able to join us!

We’re planning a run on Mount Penn and Mount Neversink on Sunday, May 21. We will start at 9:30 a.m., and there will be a couple route options. There will also be road/gravel ride option for those who prefer to bike.

A starting location, exact routes, and a post-run venue are all still TBD at this point, but save the date and keep an eye out on the Facebook Event for more details.

Now for another damn fine cup of coffee…

Weekend Group Run (September 2022)

Our weekend group run for September will be at Blue Marsh Lake on Sunday, September 11. Whether or not you’re training for Blues Cruise, this is a great chance to get in a long (or longer) run with friendly company on hilly-but-runnable trails.

Details (provided by Blues Cruise RD Dan Govern) follow below:

The Pagoda Pacers will be doing a Blues Cruise Training run on Sunday, September 11th at 9AM. Run will start from the Old Church Road parking lot. We will have 2 options…

  1. Run the “Ski Loop” section on the north side of the lake. This is an approximately 7.5 mile loop. The advantage is that you can use the Old Church parking lot as a base/fueling area and do as many loops as you want.
  2. Run the South side of the lake (approximately 22 miles). Mile #13 in this option would be the Stilling Basin. It would be a good place to drop a car, water, and other fuel for the remaining 8 miles back to Church Road.

Some things to remember…

We will have some runners doing both loops to help guide people, BUT…

Please remember that there is a chance that you may be faster or slower than their pace. It’s best to get a good understanding of the course before you come out to run. This course is generally easy to follow, but there are opportunities to get lost. The runners will attempt to stay in a group, but I’ve done enough of these runs to know that it doesn’t always work out that everyone stays together.

I hope you can come out and join us!

Dan

And a “Ps.” from Shaun Luther:

The Weekend Group Run Committee is also planning a group run at the Trexler Preserve (Lehigh County) on October 8th, so save the date!
