Pagoda Pacer A.C. Monthly Membership Meeting

CALL TO ORDER at 7:00 pm

Minutes from the June meeting were accepted as posted.

REPORTS

Treasurer Report (Michelle for Shaun)

  • Balance is $89,674, which is ~105.6% of target
  • Activity this past month
    • Income from RFA and Blues Cruise
    • Largest expenses were steel for the new bridge at Blue Marsh as well as bench sponsorship at the Pagoda

Blues Cruise (Elaine Cook & Michael Whalen)

  • Upcoming training course runs (posted in Events)
    • September 12th, Lower Stilling Basin to Old Church Rd. (6-7mi) with Skinners Loop option.
  • Currently have 140 registered 50K runners from 10 states. Relay teams are a little short.
  • Volunteer tab will go live soon and will need at least 80.
  • This year’s donation will be for the new bridge steel and Opportunity House.
  • Camping will be available again for $10 the night before (already 6 registered)

Trail Maintenance (Michael Whalen)

  • Upcoming bridge replacement dates (reach out to Mike Whalen if you want to help):
    • On August 16th, the Pagoda Pacers Trail Maintenance group will be doing bridge prep work. Meet at 9AM at the Rt. 183 Creamery parking lot.
    • Trail marked as closed starting 8/23 (can still run, but the bridge will be out).
    • Old wood bridge deconstruction starting 8/24
    • New bridge assembly: 9/26–9/27

Run for the Ages (Blair Hogg)

  • Some changes in the income/expenses and financials will be updated next month.

Oley Country Classic (Jennifer Pierdomenico)

  • Currently at 40 registered runners.
  • Price increases after Labor Day and 10/10 (shirt option also goes away).  
  • Runners will have shirt/no-shirt options this year. No shirt 10-mile/6K fee pre-Labor Day will be $25/$20. Shirt will be $18 to add onto registration.

Shiver by the River (Sue Jackson)

  • Online registration is now open on Pretzel City Sports (price the same as last year). Race is the 2nd Sunday in Dec, Jan, Feb & March.
  • Shirts must be pre-ordered (cut-off is 11/13). There will be no day-of registration shirts available.

Kris Kringle (Lisa Ashway)

  • Date is 12/27 & it is 40th year!!!  
  • Hoodie will be available again, and this year, a one-time, limited-edition Kris Kringle hat.

Charlie Horse (Kelly Ammon)

  • All expenses/income have been calculated.
  • Income was about $3000, and we will be donating $1573.55 to the Special Olympics.

Social Committee 

  • Wine & Cheese (Brittni Harris)
    • Event is 9/26 at the Barn at Cacoosing & the link is up ($20/person for Pagoda Pacers members).
  • Bike Ride (Karen Sinnen)
    • Working on a fall date, so stay tuned to Pacer social media.
  • Run/Bike/Swim (Michelle Henry)
    • This year the weather forced a slight itinerary change. Next year will plan for a couple of dates in case weather forces another change.
